What do I receive when I register for a home study course?
All courses are available with complete course materials including textbook, answer sheet, and learning exercises to reinforce major teaching points and to document your participation. To accommodate professionals who have access to the required textbook or who prefer to purchase it (new or used) independently of CM Home Study, select courses are offered at a reduced fee for registration and exam only, no textbook provided. Refer to the course descriptions to identify the courses available in this alternate format and be sure you obtain the correct edition of the textbook. Courses are presented in an open-book format, based on the required reading materials for the course.
How do I receive continuing education credit?
After you return the answer sheet with 75% or higher correct answers, a certificate verifying your completion will be sent to you for your submission to your certifying or licensing organization. Certificates verifying completion are subject to any changes by the professional certification organization granting continuing education approval. Evaluate the number of course contact hours applicable for your own individual license. The number of contact hours may be greater than the number you may be able to apply to your situation.
Attention California MFT's and LCSW's: The California Board of Behavioral Sciences has indicated: "A licensee may accrue no more than twelve (12) hours of continuing education earned through self-study courses during a single renewal period" and "you can take only up to one-third of your required CE hours through self-study."
Attention Counselors for NAADAC: NAADAC has indicated that no more than 12 hours of training may be under the home study program category.
Can I cancel my registration and get a refund?
To cancel your registration and request a refund, return all course materials, in good condition, to CM Home Study within 10 days of receipt; a refund will be issued within 10 workdays of CM's receipt of materials.
If I have a disability and need accommodation, can I still register for home study courses?
Contact CM Home Study if special accommodations are required to participate in these home study courses.
What certifying or licensing organizations approve your courses?

Why is there a difference in the amount of continuing education credits?
Continuing education credit is determined by several variables such as the length and complexity of reading materials, the number of learning exercise test questions, and the requirements of certifying/licensing organizations.
How many test questions are there?
The number of test questions vary from 30 to 155, depending on the course.
Are CM Home Study Courses protected by copyright law?
All CM Home Study Courses (excluding textbooks), including but not limited to, test questions, content, and design are the property of CM Home Study and are protected by copyright law. You may download a single copy of course materials from this website if used exclusively for your personal participation and registration in the CM Home Study Course and for non-commercial use only, provided you keep all copyright notes and do not alter the materials.
